Archive for March, 2018

I had a great time at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta on Saturday, March 17th. I had the opportunity to share my low vision and braille strategies with parents, staff, and students at their Saturday Academy. Stephanie Pizza, Director of Children and Youth Services, invited me to their summer workshop on June 7th from 9:30-12:00. I told Ms. Pizza that I will get back with in April regarding whether or not I will be able to attend. At this time, I am waiting for my proposal to present to be accepted for the 2018 IDEAS Conference Committee on St. Simons Island, GA on June 5-8.

Please follow the “Latest News” tab for information regarding where i will be presenting on June 7th.

I am going to meet with Mary Silvino, Supported Education Coordinator, for the Southern Arizona Association for the Visually Impaired on March 27th at 9:00 in Tucson. I am excited about the opportunity to share my teaching strategies for low vision and blind students, especially since my manipulatives are available for check-out at AzTAP in Flagstaff, AZ.
