Archive for July, 2018

I want to thank Marty McKenzie, Principal, Vision Outreach Services Statewide Vision Consultant in South Carolina, for sharing my teaching strategies with South Carolina AER Board. I am planning to help many students in South Carolina during the 2018-19 school year!

I have corresponded with Rhonda Thompson, Director of Older Blind and Children Services at the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. I am going to share my low vision and blind math manipulatives with Ms. Thompson and her colleagues on July 24th at 10:00 in Greenville, SC. I am looking forward to the opportunity!

I am going to share my teaching strategies at the Goodwill Easter seals of the Gulf Coast’s main office in Mobile, AL. I expect several teachers and some the students from the area to attend. The demonstration on is Thursday, July 12th from 12:00-2:00. See you there!

I was notified by Dr. Drew Polly, NCCTM, that my proposal to present was accepted at the 2018 North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference on November 1-2 in Greensboro, NC! My session will begin promptly at 8:30 on November 1st

See you at the NCCTM Conference!

I was looking on the Internet, and I found a demonstration video that the Oklahoma ABLE Tech Assistive Technology Center had done with the manipulatives they had purchased about 2 1/2 years ago. In March 2018, the North Carolina Assistive Technology Program also did a demonstration video to share my teaching strategies with the NC teachers that they support.
