I want to thank Marty McKenzie, Principal, Vision Outreach Services Statewide Vision Consultant in South Carolina, for sharing my teaching strategies with South Carolina AER Board. I am planning to help many students in South Carolina during the 2018-19 school year!
I have corresponded with Rhonda Thompson, Director of Older Blind and Children Services at the South Carolina Commission for the Blind. I am going to share my low vision and blind math manipulatives with Ms. Thompson and her colleagues on July 24th at 10:00 in Greenville, SC. I am looking forward to the opportunity!
I am going to share my teaching strategies at the Goodwill Easter seals of the Gulf Coast’s main office in Mobile, AL. I expect several teachers and some the students from the area to attend. The demonstration on is Thursday, July 12th from 12:00-2:00. See you there!
I was notified by Dr. Drew Polly, NCCTM, that my proposal to present was accepted at the 2018 North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference on November 1-2 in Greensboro, NC! My session will begin promptly at 8:30 on November 1st

I was looking on the Internet, and I found a demonstration video that the Oklahoma ABLE Tech Assistive Technology Center had done with the manipulatives they had purchased about 2 1/2 years ago. In March 2018, the North Carolina Assistive Technology Program also did a demonstration video to share my teaching strategies with the NC teachers that they support.
I have scheduled a demonstration on July 23rd at 1:00 with Marie Underwood, Director of Shared Services, at Northeast Georgia RESA. I have been invited by Elizabeth Bourne’ in Thornridge High School District near Chicago, IL to do a demonstration on June 13th at 1:30- 3:00. It has been about one year since I have done a demonstration in Illinois. I am looking forward to the opportunity!
On my way to the 2018 IDEAS Conference, I stopped by the Heart of Georgia RESA in Dublin, GA. I met with Connie Howell, School Improvement Specialist. After she saw some of my teaching strategies, she suggested that I provide additional information and possibly schedule a 1/2 day workshop. I was not sure what to expect from doing my third demonstration at the third Institute Designed for the Educating All Students Conference on St. Simons Island, GA. I had a very enthusiastic group, and they were definitely attending the conference for the right reasons- to gain information to help their students!
I enjoyed meeting educators and specialists at the South Carolina Assistive Technology Program. Tammy Wallace, Project Coordinator, did a great job organizing my demonstration. Thanks for your help!
