Because I am still in the classroom at Elm Street Elementary in Rome, GA, I had to decline invitations to the Pennsylvania Council for Exceptional Children Conference (October 2nd), 2021 Florida Council for Exceptional Children Conference (October 23rd), 2021 Pathways 2 Possibilities Conference (in Biloxi, MS on November 17th), 2021 California Mathematics Council Conference (December 5th), and 2022 California Association of Resource and Special Education Teachers Conference (February 25th.) I informed the conferences’ organizers to keep me in mind for future conferences.

I did a virtual demonstration on October 22nd with James Lee, Math Specialist at Crowley’s Ridge Education Cooperative in Harrisburg, AR. Mr. Lee informed me that he is interested in scheduling staff development with the teachers in his region during the 2022 summer! I had a great session at the 2021 Louisiana Accessible Education Materials Conference, 2021 Californian Mathematics Council Conference in Palm Springs on November 5th and two sessions at the 2021 South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference in Columbia, SC on November 11th. I met many enthusiastic teachers and administrators during my sessions.

Before my SCCTM sessions, I met with Dena Jude, Special Education Math Specialist, and LaVeda Green, Coordinator of Specialized Instruction and Curriculum Supports, Richland One County Schools in Columbia, SC. Ms. Jude is going to collaborate with her colleagues to schedule staff development with her teachers this summer. Follow the “Latest News” tab for details.

I appreciate Sonya Clark, North Carolina Assistive Technology Program, for helping coordinate my session at her 2021 NC AT Expo. I hope my strategies will help many of the students that the NC AT Program helps serve!

I appreciate James Lee, Math Specialist at Crowley’s Ridge Education Service Center, taking some time to hear about my math strategies. I am going to conduct a virtual demonstration on October 22nd at 4:00 EST.

Even though I put 1,107 miles on my car driving in many small and large towns in Western Mississippi and Southeastern Arkansas, it was worth every mile. I was able to meet several administrators and teachers who were trying to find strategies for their students.

I met with the visually impaired specialist, Paige Dillinger, and Jennifer Williams, Transition Specialist, at Crowley’s Ridge Education Service Center in Harrisburg, Arkansas. I enjoyed the opportunity to share my VI math strategies. I appreciate their willingness to share my strategies with her colleagues!

I just received the Zoom link from Julie Ituarte for my demonstration at the Kansas State School for the Blind on October 13th at 2:00-3:00 CST. I am looking forward to meeting the TVI about 1.000 miles away!
