I received an email from Cecilia Nieto, Community Liaison Specialist, Division of Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Tittle I Programs for FDLRS- South Associate Center. Ms. Nieto helps serve students in Miami Dade and Monroe Counties. After reviewing my information and watching my Easter Seals Indianapolis video, she offered to share my teaching strategies with her colleagues. Due to time and distance, I really appreciate her help!

I want to thank Summer McGrady, Vice President of Community Engagement at at Easter Seals Washington, for posting my Easter Seals Indianapolis video and other information on Facebook and Twitter. Her time and effort will hopefully help many children that they serve in Washington.

I would like to thank Wade Wingler and Justin Amber at Easter Seals Indianapolis for the opportunity to do a demonstration and help making a demonstration video. Hopefully, I can return to Indianapolis in the near future!

I really appreciate the opportunities to demonstration my teaching strategies at the South River Assistive Technology Center in Gonzales, LA and at St. Tammany Parish Schools in Covington, LA on December 11th. I was able to meet several AT and VI specialists in SE Louisiana with the intention of helping the students that they serve with their math standards.

After my math demonstration at St. Tammany Parish Schools, I was invited by Michael Norman, Coordinator of the Louisiana Deafblind Project for Children and Youth, to do a session at his upcoming conference this spring. Please follow my “Latest News” for the date of the conference and time of my session.

My manipulatives are available for check out at 6/7 of the Louisiana Assistive Technology Initiative Centers. Please contact the LATI regional facilitators to check out my manipulatives or if you need feedback from educators about my teaching strategies.

I met with Mr. Aikens and Ms. Judge, TVI specialists at Dodgen Middle School in Cobb County SChools in Marietta, GA, on Friday at 1:30. The meeting was made possible by Dr. Heidi Evans, Special Education Supervisor at Cobb County Schools. Due to my limited time, Dr. Evans was able to help arrange a demonstration so that some of her teachers would be able see and hear my teaching strategies first- hand.

I really appreciated their positive feedback and willingness to share my teaching strategies with their colleagues at Cobb County’s upcoming staff meeting in December.

I am very appreciative of Anne Dardis, VI Supervisor for St. Tammany Parish Schools, LA, for scheduling a district training on December 11th in Covington, LA at 12:30- 3:30. She is also inviting her colleagues from neighboring parishes to attend! Because some students move during the school year, I feel that her invitation to neighboring parishes is very important because her colleagues will have an opportunity to be aware of some of her parish’s math strategies.

I have scheduled a demonstration Sharon Edwards and Kristie Stapler, AT Specialists at the South River Assistive Technology Center in Gonzales, LA at 9:00. I met Ms. Edwards and Ms. Stapler at my session at the 2015 Louisiana Assistive Technology Initiative North Summer Summit Conference in June. I will be sharing my teaching strategies with their colleagues at their regional meeting. I have already conducted demonstrations at many of the LATI Centers over the past two years and am looking forward to visiting this one!

After my 2015 Tennessee CEC Conference demonstration, Julie Crowe, Exceptional Education Consultant for Metro Nashville Public Schools, invited me to share my teaching strategies with her teachers on November 23rd at 2:30. I am looking forward to meeting her teachers and the opportunity to help her students!

My demonstration at the Kentucky School for the Blind in Louisville has changed from 8:00 on October 22nd to 9:00. I hope to see everyone there!

I received a quick response from Kenny Jones, Kentucky School for the Blind’s Center Based Outreach Consultant. I have accepted an invitation to share my teaching strategies at the Kentucky School for the Blind in Louisville, KY at 8:00-9:00 on October 22nd. I appreciate his help forwarding my teaching strategies to KSB’s math teachers and administrators.
